SSP, Ghaziabad visited DLF colony

This was for the first time in DLF colony that Sr. Superintedent of Police, Ghaziabad Police, Shri L. Ravi Kumar with his Officers attended a Workshop on 5.10.2008 which was organized by DLF Residents Welfare Association headed by Shri Vijay Singh. A presentation was made to the SSP by RWA. Workshop was on the subject of “Community partication in effective policing”. The additional responsibilities due to terrorism, organized crime , violence against depressed, minorities, females and children has made it hard for the police to deal with law & order situation. The present system of police finds it tough to handle the work load and there is a need of involvement of all from the society. Regular training & development inside the police and also to different stakeholders in Community is the need of hour. Taking feedback from the community about the changes through independent body, by reaching to the society is also inevitable. Public image and bondage between Community and police need to be improved. To deal with tough hand with those disturbing the communal harmony was also stressed.
The presentation was followed by interactive session between residents & SSP. He assured the residents to take up the issues of Boundary wall for the colony, Shifting of Liquor Shops from the residential area, Joint Patrolling with Delhi Police and better grievance registration mechanism. SSP also assured of all possible help in future to the team of RWA and asked the Chowky in charge to get in touch with RWA at regular intervals to sort out law & order issues. He personally visited the spot of Liquor shop, Parking area of the colony and took the round of the colony to see encroachments.
